Dharma Productions Continues Backing Women Filmmakers with Dhadak 2:

One of the biggest production houses in India, Dharma Productions, continues its commitment to championing women filmmakers by collaborating with director Shazia Iqbal for their latest project, Dhadak 2. Known for supporting powerful female voices in cinema, Dharma has previously worked with acclaimed directors like Meghna Gulzar (Raazi), Gauri Shinde (Dear Zindagi), Ruchi Narain (Guilty), and Sonam Nair (Masaba Masaba). Now, Shazia Iqbal joins this inspiring lineup with her debut feature backed by the banner and we know it’s going to be a special project.

At the trailer launch of Dhadak 2, producer Karan Johar spoke about the importance of giving space and recognition to female storytellers. He said, “We are very proud to have worked with women filmmakers & Shazia adds to that beautiful list! Meghna Gulzar, Ruchi Narayan, Sonam Narain, Gauri Shinde have made beautiful films for us.”

Karan went on to express his admiration for Shazia Iqbal’s vision and storytelling, “Shazia, I’m so proud of you that you’ve made this beautiful film for us & I’ll be eternally grateful to your storytelling and the emotion that you brought to this film!”
